Prepreg Procurement Guide
For Engineering and procurement teams evaluating carbon fiber prepreg.
Define the laminate before asking for a quote
Provide the reinforcement format, target laminate construction, resin-system requirement, finished part or panel use, processing route and quantity. A project-confirmed prepreg configuration should not be selected from a product category alone.
If the reinforcement format is still open, use the UD and twill prepreg selection guide to compare load-path efficiency, drape and surface-finish considerations before preparing the inquiry.
State the processing window
Identify the available cure equipment, temperature range, pressure or vacuum capability, production cycle and any out-time limits your process must accommodate. Request the applicable processing and handling documentation for the proposed material.
Set acceptance and documentation requirements
List the required test methods, acceptance criteria, certificate or batch-document needs, inspection records and revision-control requirements. These should be reviewed before an evaluation batch or production quotation is finalized.
Confirm storage and shipping
Share the destination, desired delivery window, available storage conditions and cold-chain requirements, if applicable. Packaging, storage, shelf-life and shipment conditions are confirmed for the selected material and destination.
